A professional facial carried out in a salon is very different from the DIY sheet mask treatment that you might occasionally do at home.
A facial at a salon is a professional skincare treatment designed to cleanse, exfoliate, and nourish the skin. They will incorporate professional-grade products and deeper exfoliation. This will help with extractions to ensure that they are carried out safely and efficiently, to minimize irritation and scarring. A facial can be fully tailored to address concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, and dryness.
If you regular go for facials you may know whether you need to book in for a hydrating facial or a facial aimed at mature skin. But if you have not been for a facial before or are simply unsure, then you can book in for an "Pro Skin", where on your first visit the therapist will spend 10-15 minutes of the treatment discussing your skin, carrying out a skin analysis and then discussing your concerns. The therapist will tailor the treatment to suit your exact needs. Note, no two facials are the same.
Our "Pro Skin" facial includes cleansing, a steam, extraction, a cleansing or nourishing face mask, exfoliation and ends with a mini facial massage and competed with a moisturiser suitable for your skin type with SPF to protect your skin.
The benefits of facials are more than just glowing skin for a few days post-treatment. Facials can boost skin hydration, remove dead skin cells, improve the skin texture and clear clogged pores. Some also stimulate collagen for anti-aging benefits.
Aside from a fresh, post-facial glow, there are also some long-term benefits: Facials can help resolve dryness, dehydration, inflammation, acne, and hyperpigmentation when done with the right products and tools, they can promote circulation and provide deep hydration.
Yes, you can, but you should consult with the therapist first so that they can select gentler treatments and avoid harsh active ingredients.
There are a few cases where you should avoid a facial or book a consultancy prior to treatment so that the therapist can advise you. Seek the therapists advice if you have open wounds or lesions on your face, you have active rosacea, eczema or sunburn.
