What should I wear for a massage?

  • Wear loose, breathable clothing that allows for ease of movement and relaxation. Some recommend wearing gym clothes or comfortable underwear. Avoid tight clothing, which can make it uncomfortable to put back on after the massage.
  • You will be covered by a towel throughout the massage for your privacy and comfort
  • If you have long hair, tie your hair up or put it in a bun so it doesn't get in the way of the therapist or get oily.
  • Consider leaving jewellery at home or asking the massage therapist for a safe place to store it.

How often should I have a massage?

It does depends on your initial reasons for getting a massage, your goals and lifestyle.

But generally people have massages once a month for routine maintenance of their muscles. If you are having massage for stress relief it is recommended to have a massage every few weeks or monthly

After your massage...

  • Drinking plenty of water helps flush out toxins released during the massage and keeps your muscles from getting sore.

  • It's recommended to rest for at least 30 minutes after a massage.

  • Avoid strenuous activity
  • Avoid heavy lifting, intense workouts, or other strenuous activities for at least 24 hours. Instead, you can try gentle movements like stretching or a light walk.
  • Caffeine can tense your muscles and dehydrate you, and alcohol can have adverse effects when combined with the toxins released during a massage. You can try drinking herbal tea instead of coffee.

What type of massage should I pick?

Pick the swedish full body massage for a deeply relaxing massage which incorpates back, neck, shoulders, legs, feet, arms and hands. This will ease your tired aching muscles and leave you feeling deeply relaxed.
Or you can opt for the shorter focused back massage which also incorporates neck and shoulders too.

The Hot Stone massage is for those that prefer a massage to target deeper muscles. It uses heated stones placed on specific muscles to warm them up and aid relaxation.

Indian head massage is perfect for those experiencing a sore neck or tension headache.
